I'm an intermediate teacher at a Science, Technology, Engineer, and Math School. I work with an awesome group of students. Each child is special in his or her own way and has a different learning need. Most of the parents are very supportive. However, some families are in need. The lack of financial support can make it tough for a child's academic future. All students deserve a well-rounded educational experience regardless of their circumstances.
Importantly, they are eager learners motivated by hands-on, engaging activities.
My students take pride in their work and are always striving to become better citizens.
My Project
Preparing for the 'First Period' in a girl's life can be a bit frightening. As a sixth grade teacher, I hope to make this transition period as smooth as possible for all female students. I am asking for LaVie pads to facilitate the female students in my school.
The start of menstruation is a major event in a girl’s life.
Providing sanitation napkins to each girl during her time of the month can help her to feel clean and fresh throughout the school day. Experiencing a life change for a young girl should not be an embarrassing moment but one of confidence. With that said, my intent is to give care packages during a scheduled hygiene lesson by the school nurse. This school year will be the year to remember. Each young lady in sixth grade will receive a month's supply of LaVie pads to support keeping our kids healthy and happy.
