My Students

My students walk in to class everyday waiting for their morning greeting. A hug, fist bump or high five may be the only positive connection they have had with an adult that morning.

Students that enter my classroom, have little experience in the world when it comes to self regulation, sharing with others, and successfully interacting as a school family.

Everyday I try to provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate and academically rich Kindergarten education for the youngest learners. I work with students, parents and staff to create a safe school family.

My Project

The Feeling Buddy Self Regulation kit includes all the things that my Kindergarten students need to help them regulate their own emotions. This allows students to learn the skills that will follow them throughout their lives and maintain positive relationships.

Students that walk into my classroom are not able to identify how they feel or possess the tools of how to regulate their emotions.

When a child gets upset or angry, his or her first instinct is to lash out. This curriculum includes many tangible items that students can understand and relate to which will help them identify their emotions and deal with them in a healthy and constructive manner. Everyone needs the ability to self regulate in order to live a healthy and happy life. With your support I can begin to help my students towards that life.
