Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are mostly English Language Learners who love to learn. They come from low-income households. Despite where they come from, they will knock your socks off with their minds. My students can come up with the most amazing stories. They have hearts of gold and enjoy coming to school each and every day to learn something new.
My students love to read, tell stories, write stories, be creative, solve math problems, and create projects that will blow your mind.
There is never a task that my students will not accomplish.
My Project
I need read aloud books to help show my students its ok to have different feelings. It's ok to be sad, or even angry. But, it's not ok to act out on your feelings towards your friends.
My students will be reading different social emotional books to begin to understand the way they are feeling is ok.
I also want my students to read about different situations to realize it’s ok for their friends to feel different, but its not ok to criticize others when they are feeling sad, angry, or another way. These books will allow me to teach different lessons throughout the year on feelings. And, show the students that everyone different and its ok to be different.
It will also allow the students to see other characters feeling the way they feel sometimes.
