Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a first year teacher, there will be many new experiences in the classroom, including meeting my 26 amazing students. Most of my students will be English Language Learners from South Los Angeles. I have no doubt that my future students are motivated learners who value education. I envision my students coming to school excited and ready to learn every single day. It is my duty as an educator to create opportunities and equip students with the tools and resources to be successful in all their endeavors.
My Project
Meeting the needs of all learners extends beyond content to include the physical environment as well. An uncomfortable student is a distracted and unproductive student. Having seating options encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive.
Flexible seating allows students to choose the seating style that best fits their needs.
Students can use the lap desks and cushions if they want to sit on the floor. For the ones who like to move around, they can sit in the wobble chairs, wobble cushions, or stability balls. Students will feel empowered, as they get to decide their own seatings and have control over their learning environment.
