This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love being active and learning from hands-on experiences. They are excited when there is something new to explore On the computer. The majority come from low-income homes without internet and laptops. We are a very diverse classroom. Our families have different occupations, different skills and abilities, and a variety of personality traits, values and attitudes. We are dynamic, driven, and all different! So why not celebrate the differences by allowing the laptop to open their minds to a large worldview.
In our school family, we teach them to dream, to be change-makers and treat everyone with respect.
Daily we not only see hearts with laughter, but also help them grow, and let them wander and explore from one form of art to the next. I am a teacher that is passionate about not providing what's fair but what's fair to each child that enters our school family. I work hard to differentiate for each of my students and their parents so that We are maximizing on hands learning experience including electronics the moment they enter the classroom and digitally sign into the classroom.
My Project
We need help keeping the children minds active during the summer. The educational year was shorten during the Coronavirus Crises and the children lost many learning engagement activities. This project we hope to supplement their at-home learning with a journal, pencils, paper and a variety of language, math and writing activities. We studied Conscious Discipline all year for their Social and Emotional Development giving them a sense of belonging, safe and loved. With this end of the year project, we hope our year of giving them emotional support will continue with the summer packs. Please help these young minds strive.
