Feeding the Mind With Books

My Students

My students are fun-loving, caring, smart individuals. They are full of questions and have a thirst for knowledge. My students work so hard to do their best in all they do and that shows so much about their character. My students know how important reading is for their overall academic success and they are able to have great discussions about all of the books we read in class and with their own free read books. They are amazing individuals!

My Project

My students understand that the best way to improve their reading and education, in general, is to read. I offer my students a chance to engage in meaningful discussions outside the classroom by offering the Breakfast Book Club. Much like an adult book club, my students receive a book to read and we then meet up in the mornings to discuss what they have read. This is something that my students can choose to take part in and each year I have an outstanding number of students join. This just shows how motivated my students are to improve their learning. They are going the extra mile to improve themselves!

I have seen great improvement with students who join the book club not only in their classroom reading and discussions but with writing and overall self-confidence in the classroom.

This is a safe place where students can discuss the book and any connections they have without feeling the pressure of getting something wrong because this is not associated with any letter grade. This is solely intended to help my students learn to love reading and to help better their overall academics.
