Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class consists of 19 preschool students whose ages range from 3 to 5. Every child is unique and therefore every child has different strengths and learning needs. Something they have in common is their curiosity, creativity and high levels of energy. My students are very artistic and respond well to creative learning environments. They can be found building, singing, dancing, painting, doing pretend reading, brainstorming, planning and implementing their ideas in the classroom. They also love talking and sharing their work, personal experiences and opinions in front of the classroom.
My Project
Painting is more than a simple activity in our classroom. Students are using paint and painting tools not only to continue developing their senses, expressing ideas and emotions, they are also getting familiar with the planning process. As they grow up, students are learning to develop ideas about what they want to create before they start working on an art project. Once they have an idea, they start brainstorming ideas about materials and how they can use those materials to create their projects. However, we are currently short in painting materials and our paint brushes are breaking down.
By donating to our project you will not only help our students to continue developing their fine motor and socio-emotional skills, your will help to develop their critical thinking skills and creativity.
