Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are truly exceptional! They work hard to succeed. They persevere when faced with a challenge, creatively inspire our community, and believe in one another. They are tomorrow's leaders and world-changers. They are our future and together we can help them reach their dreams. More than 94% of our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. They come to a low-income Title I school every day where resources are very limited. Some of our students are unable to purchase supplies and the school is only able to do so much with the budget they have. Our students strive to do their best!
My students are energetic, smart, and motivated to succeed.
Even though they come from a variety of backgrounds, including race, religion and family structure, we all work together to create a unique learning experience, instilling a love of learning and exploring that will last a lifetime. Many of our parents work multiple jobs and are unable to attend school events, therefore parents are missing out of their student’s success.
My Project
My students forfeit their breakfast to get much needed math tutoring. Many of them ride the bus and are unable to stay for after-school tutoring. To help them I am requesting breakfast bars to give them.
In order for students to be ready to learn, they have to have their basic needs met such as food.
If they are hungry, they are not able to concentrate on their learining.
My students all share a love for learning. In order to continue this quest, they must start off the day with some kind of breakfast. We are asking for Nutri-Grain Bars, Quaker Chewy Granola Bars, Quaker Oatmeal Bars, and an assortment of different breakfast bars. We have very special students and we have some that have food allergies. Therefore, in order to ensure each child is able to get a quick breakfast or snack we need to offer a variety of choices.
Please help fund our breakfast bars to ensure each student starts the day off with a full stomach and ready to learn!
