Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our school is full of the sweetest and brightest young learners around! We are a Title I school, which means a majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Unfortunately, that also means many of our students rely on school as a main source of nutrition. So, what happens when they go home on the weekends or on break?

The purpose of this project is to put that worry to ease!

I am hoping to use this to start a food pantry system within our school that will allow us to send students home with food on weekends/breaks to ensure they have plenty to eat when away from our school. Once established, my dream is to have opportunities to restock through fundraising and donations from community outreach in various ways.
