My students need crackers, chips, goldfish and water for the kids that are coming to school without eating because they are homeless or in less then steller home situation.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I School, and almost seventy percent receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a magnet school which requires most students to maintain a B average throughout the year. The students are part of Pre-Med, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Computer Technology programs.
Our students come from the diverse backgrounds of 30 different countries.
This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.
My Project
My students are inner-city students who sometimes before they get to school have so much more to deal with than most children. Issues like being hungry, homeless and sometimes coming to school dirty. If we can combat these issues then my scholars can come to my class and focus on their education. They can be on task for the day and ready to learn. They will have access to the water, nuts, pringles, crackers and other snacks for before and after school. They can ask for things like crackers and chips. Also, they can come in and request stuff to take home for the weekend. They will be able to have a small snack to take home if needed.
