My students need basic supplies to incorporate into our cooking class.
What makes my students special?
Well, they're pretty amazing. My students dream of graduating high school, becoming pro-athletes, doctors, engineers, artists and much more.
What impresses me daily is the amount of creativity in the classroom that is buzzing all at once.
I really enjoy working with my students. Unfortunately, there are few creative outlets at our school besides our arts program. Only certain grades have access to Art and Gym due to scheduling conflicts and space; therefore, I try to offer as many creative opportunities within my cooking classroom.
My Project
My students unfortunately come to school hungry and are unable to focus on school because they can only think about eating. I have snacks like crackers and cereal bars they can grab before school or take home for after school. If they aren’t hungry they can thn come to school and their priority can be there education. This will increase their grades which benefits them in so many ways. Simple snacks like granola bars and beef jerky are small enough for them to carry but substantial enough to help them nutritionally. It’s the small things like a snack or bottle of water that truly make a huge difference for my kids.
