Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum - Help Me Make Phonemic Awareness Fun!
My students need hands-on activities, such as Launch & Learn Language Games, Alphabet Stamps, and What's the Rhyme? Sorting Houses that are fun and engaging that will also help develop important phonemic skills.
I am blessed to be a teacher of the "smallest" learners on our campus...kindergarteners! Our elementary serves over nineteen thousand, five hundred students. The district has twenty-eight schools in eight different attendance zones. It is the third largest school district in Mississippi. Our elementary is part of the Brandon zone. It is the home to approximately nine hundred kindergarten and first-grade students. Our small town supports and loves our school in a big way!
Go Dawgs!
My Project
My students learn best through activities that promote active language and play. As a teacher of young children, I look for ways to introduce skills that will be engaging for my students. What could be more fun than being allowed to "launch" objects in the classroom! My students will LOVE using the Launch & Learn Language games in small groups as they practice and perfect their phonemic skills. By incorporating materials such as the Magnetic Letter Builders, "What's the Rhyme?" sorting houses, and the Phonemic Awareness Magnetic Activity Tins into our centers and small group instruction time, my "little learners" will be actively engaged in language and will have the opportunity to practice needed skills in a FUN way!
Many studies have shown that phonemic awareness is a vital part of creating strong readers and writers.
I want my students to become lifelong learners that LOVE to read and write! By having access to these educational materials, I can make that dream come true!
