Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are an amazing, vibrant collection of enthusiastic artists in a Title I inner-city, coastal Connecticut community where 100% of our students receive free lunch and there never seems to be an end to other urgent needs.
We welcome many immigrants and transient families to our community and engage students as they navigate every kind of emotional and social challenge that you can imagine.
Economic need is high, but creative passion is even higher! Please help our creative and talented students touch the wonderful materials they need to thrive and explore.
My Project
My students are enjoying building with chenille stems, wooden sticks, plastic lace and multi-functional objects that allow them to use their imagination.
I would love to add beads, buttons, feathers, key rings and an abundance of bendy stems for even the most ambitious project.
Early learners should be provided with a classroom of possibility, an environment of choice and heart felt permission to create amazing structures. Inviting students to create with free choice without worrying about the availability of material supplies is a huge gift for a teacher. A generous selection of exciting materials stimulates growth and discovery in the art room.
