Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Halfway through the school year, we were learning so much. Suddenly, we had to quarantine, resulting in staying home from school.

Because of COVID-19, we had to throw out any materials infected with the virus; I had to throw all my scholars' folders away!

Working in an inner-city school district, I have at least two parents who will bring in all required materials for their child, while the rest simply can't afford to.

We have to start over due to this continuous pandemic. Starting over with new, durable, and clean folders is what my scholars need in order to learn.

The new durable folders will be used for homework, centers, and all learning subjects. In addition, each child will get their own folder. N sharing, only independent folders to continue social distancing.

My goal is always to push towards student independence. How will I get my students to value responsibility and become independent learners? This goal is not taught anymore. I make it my teacher's mission to get most of my students to simply realize what being responsible is and looks like. Having these folders will teach them this and it will open their eyes for a deeper understanding.

We want impactful learning to take place and continue for the success of my student's education. This is possible with the right resources but I can't do that without your help!
