My students need 19 copies of a nonfiction book to meet the requirements for the new common core standards. This book, "Farewell to Manzanar," will attract students' attention and serve these new needs!

My Students

Help my students become more diverse! The books that I am asking for immerse students into a new culture and help them improve their reading levels through a first-hand account.

My students live in a low income area where roaming the streets is the thing to do instead of homework.

However, there is a small population that enjoys a challenge and I feel that this book will interest both types of students. Please help my classroom meet the new common core standards through this set of class books!

My Project

This project will fulfill a class set of 11 that I currently have! Not only will you be helping to introduce students to a new type of culture (Japanese), but I can put a few resources to use that the school already has! This situation helps the students and the school, in addition to increasing reading skills and comprehension tasks.

These types of novels are in short supply at EB Frink and are desperately needed. My students need to be successful with these new standards to develop the confidence they will need to transition into high school and the workforce. By providing my classroom with a new set of nonfiction books, hopefully we can start this task off right!
