Our school is located in a low income area in Southern California. Over 90% of our students receive free lunch. A large majority of our students do not have access to the Internet at home. Due to the many challenges our students face, they are unable to visit the local library to do research on their different projects. Our school library has become a critical center for learning and exploring. Our school site serves over 1,000 students from grades K-8.
I am requesting new a new pencil sharpener for my students to be able to use instead of our little hand held one that makes a BIG mess. I know this seems like something small, but I know my students and myself will LOVE it! We are also in need of clips to hang our beautiful artwork from the ceiling and a hole punch for some of our projects. The last item we are in need of is a magnetic flannel board. This item is super special because it will be used primarily by our special need students when hearing a story or working with a partner to retell a story.
