Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have enjoyed receiving the Scholastic and Spin magazines this year. These magazines have increased students' content knowledge, reinforced topics covered in science and social studies, and engaged students in current events. They learned about current events like the solar eclipse and past events like the sinking of the Titanic. I would like to continue providing these experiences to my next class. These subscriptions have also helped my students learn science and social studies vocabulary and improve their reading fluency and comprehension.

Scholastic subscriptions include high-interest articles which allow students to engage with nonfiction texts.

The book bins will help students stay organized as we implement a flexible seating arrangement. The bins will allow students to move around the classroom as necessary. We need sanitizing wipes to continue cleaning our tables daily. This routine keeps students safe and healthier. Students miss less school when germs aren't spread as easy.
