Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I serve STEM students in a highly diverse school. The students come from many different backgrounds and many of my students speak a second language. Our students come from supportive families who want the best for their kids but often do not have the resources they need to assist them.
These students are imaginative, inventive problem solvers who are excited to learn about STEM concepts in the classroom!
Giving them opportunities to think critically and collaborate is essential for their success!
My Project
As a STEM teacher with around 300 students across 7 grade levels, it's very important that I am fully able to teach all of them effectively throughout the day.
The standing desk and anti-fatigue mat, as well as the adjustable whiteboard will help me teach my students more effectively in a remote environment from my home.
The standing desk and anti-fatigue mat will keep me healthy so I'm not sitting all day while teaching, and the adjustable whiteboard will help me project, show examples and create a teaching experience more like the regular classroom. This will definitely keep my students more engaged and comfortable since it will be more like an in-person experience due to a bit of "normalcy". Thank you for all your support!
