Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second grade students come to class ready to learn and meet the daily challenges. They value the contributions of others while working in collaborative teams. They are respectful and tolerant and view differences as strengths.
Their daily enthusiasm and enjoyment for learning are what continues to spark my love for teaching each year.
My students' families demonstrate their support through their daily involvement and support. I can't imagine doing it all alone. It really does take a village.
My Project
My second grade students enjoy learning mathematical concepts, but our math resources are very limited. The latest math assessment showed that the students lack addition and subtraction fluency and automaticity. For that reason, I need to provide the students plenty of opportunities to develop those skills by spending about 30 minutes on them before our math period.
The ETA hand2mind Daily Math Fluency Kit is just the resource we need.
With this additional resource, my students will develop numeracy and the ability to use mathematical relationships to reason with numbers and numerical concepts. With your support, my students to master fluency strategies using the visual models and manipulatives included in the kit.
