This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

By the end of this school year, I hope that my students are engaged, ready to reflect, and ready to grow on their educational path!

My school is an International Baccalaureate school, which gives students a wonderful opportunity to learn through inquiry.

Students raise interesting and thought provoking questions about all areas of learning, and are able to investigate these concepts on their own or through partnerships. My class is always interested in learning new things, and thrives to do better!

My Project

My students will use these fraction materials to overcome the daunting task of understanding fractions! Studies have proven that students need MANY opportunities of hands on experiences with fractions to even begin to understand what they mean. These materials will offer my students a chance at those many opportunities.

Funding this project will make a difference in the lives of my students because many of them are English Language Learners, which means they need multiple opportunities and modalities to understand challenging concepts such as fractions.
