Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Underprivileged and no money. That's what my students are. They are the most excited 4th grade students. They want to learn and I want to teach them. They deserve to have some new things. Going into my 2nd year teaching 4th Grade and 9th year teaching I want to give my students more.
My classes have always loved to read and do math. They get their books and gather together in our meeting area. I would like to make this area even more friendly and inviting for them by purchasing a beanbag chairs to put their. I also want to get rid of the 1st grade calendar and math activities and get newer more age appropriate ones.
With a new calendar and math activities I will be able to engage the students and make them strive to be better mathematicians. It will be easier to show them how math is part of everyday life and will lead to having more people become productive members of our ever growing society. The beanbag chair will help promote a safe comfortable classroom environment. Having the students feel safe is my number one priority because without that you cannot teach them.
I really believe that having these math materials and beanbag chair will enhance our classroom environment and make it a more inviting place to learn and grow. I would appreciate any donations that may help my students to become even better readers :)
