Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students this year are a very kind and social bunch. They love working together and being creative. I have a very diverse group of kids that offer many different insights to the world around them. They are in the process of discovering their potential and how to challenge themselves. Each student in my class is so unique and together they create such a wonderful learning environment. I am really excited to help my students prepare for their middle school adventures next year.
My Project
I am trying out flexible seating in my classroom this year. Flexible seating gives students different options on where and how to sit in the classroom. By allowing students more choice and variety, it creates a more engaging learning environment for them and a space where they are more comfortable. Also, because seats are unassigned and students are moving around the room throughout the day, it teaches them to respect the learning space more as it belongs to everyone. A flexible seating environment helps students to create community and be more responsible for their learning. I would appreciate any help in making my classroom a more welcoming space for my students.
