My Students

My classroom is currently made up of 21 wonderfully unique minds of all backgrounds and ability levels. They show an eagerness to learn and are best served when working in small groups.

What an energetic and kind-hearted group of students I have this year!

They are such good friends that the most challenging part of my day is asking them to complete independent work because they cannot help but try to collaborate and assist one another. I often see students explaining work to one another. This is touching given the varying ability levels with academics and language acquisition that we have in our class.

My Project

Our school year begins in August and ends in June. During the critical first days of school students are subdued by the heat. They cannot function on an optimal level and get the most out of their day without some relief from the warm Connecticut weather. The requested materials will allow our classroom to have a steady flow of air circulating throughout the day.

When the classroom temperature rises, student engagement decreases.

Having fans in our class will help students be more focused on their schoolwork. They will be more comfortable in the classroom and more enthusiastic about their learning.
