Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a school where 100% of the population is from low-income and disadvantaged households. The school, along with our entire school district, qualifies as Title I. Our school is located directly off a major highway in California.
Our students seek new and exciting resources to help feed their young minds.
School today can have many challenges. With the support of people from across the globe, we can help educate, communicate, and cooperate with the students in our classroom and school. With your help, we can make sure they have the materials for success, health, and happiness.
My Project
I am excited to create a new Human Rights bulletin board, where we will have a quote-of-the-month art print displayed for discussion and collaboration.
These 12 bright and colorful comic book-like posters will be used to engage students in conversation, critical thinking, and real-world issues — including social-emotional and bullying topics.
We will create a graphic organizer for the students to record their thoughts, observations, and inferences about the artwork each month. This project includes 11 unframed 24x36 posters and one framed 24x36 poster for our new Human Rights Wall. We can relate the lessons in all cross-curricular subject areas in our classroom. I think the kids will get a kick out of these posters from The Zen Pencils Store. They will enhance our lessons throughout the day and give students an opportunity to focus and review these important life lessons and quotes.
Thank you for helping feed my students’ growing minds!
