Famous Americans Seeking Equality

Help me give my students books about Famous Americans who have fought for equal rights in American History.

My Project

Each year, 2nd graders have a unit on famous Americans who have been instrumental in fighting for the rights of Americans for justice, equality, and freedom. I have book sets for Helen Keller and Rosa Parks, but I really need sets for some of the others that we teach like Cesar Chavez who fought for the rights of migrant farm workers, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who fought for the rights of African Americans during the Jim Crow Era, Jackie Robinson who broke barriers in professional sports, George Washington Carver who used Botany as a way to lend credibility to African Americans' right to obtain college degrees and provide their expertise in the field of science, and Thurgood Marshall who was one of the most important leaders in history. He argued 32 cases before the supreme court and won 29 before becoming a supreme court justice. Let's also not forget Susan B. Anthony and Ruth Bader Ginsburg who have fought for gender equality. Help me provide great books to tell their stories.
