Family Under a Bridge

My students need class sets of "Family Under the Bridge" and "The Hundred Dresses".

I have a classroom that consists primarily of low income students. I have several Special ED, ADD and dyslexic students. Most come from a home life that is very unstable and for many of my students school is their only outlet.

Motivation is a very hard thing to accomplish when my kids see reading as a chore! My students need books that are highly engaging and relatable.

My students would greatly benefit from receiving a class set of the two books "The Family Under the Bridge" and "The Hundred Dresses". "The Family Under the Bridge" is about a family who is facing hardships and is forced to live homeless under a bridge. "The Hundred Dresses" is about a poor immigrant girl who is made fun of at school for the clothes that she wears. Unfortunately, these are two books that my students can relate to.

By donating to this project, you will be giving the joy of reading to my students. They will be able to read something that they can actually relate to, which is so important in keeping them engaged. These books will last for a long time, and will be used to engage students for years to come! Thank you for your time and consideration!
