My students need math games to play at home with their families to build skills and fluency while having fun!
My students are awesome! I teach at a Philadelphia Public School that qualifies for Title I funding. My entire class qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. Most of my students live in a single parent household and some of them are being cared for by a foster family or extended family members.
Despite the challenges my students face, they come each day with a great attitude.
Many of them have faced hardships that you would never want any child to ever experience. I provide a safe, nurturing environment where kids can learn and progress.
My students have math practice page or skill and drill math assignment each night for homework. I would like to engage both the students and their families by offering a Math Family Game Night Lending Bookbag that would allow students to practice math skills while having fun with their families.
Families could support student math learning while playing a fun game at home.
Each child who borrows a math bookbag could do their homework through play with their loved ones. Also, families could provide on the spot coaching when a child needs help. The parent would see what the child remembers and can help when the child does not remember. Math homework redesigned to engage both parent and student.
