My classroom is full of kiddos who bring joy to my world! They are curious, energetic, smart, adventurous and courageous little people who not only love learning but teach me something new every day! Each of them, in some way or another, has a delay in an area of development that can make learning more challenging.
Focusing on what they can do, rather than what they can't, is essential.
Sometimes the trick to figuring out the supports each child needs to master a skill is only a matter of taking a closer look. The answer is often right in front of you.
My Project
Last school year, we managed to salvage a doll house from the garbage for our classroom. We cleaned it up and painted it but we don't have any dolls, furniture or vehicles to go along with it. We are looking to add a fisher price bedroom, living room, kitchen, laundry room and nursery as well as a family SUV.
Language skills will be enhanced by the addition of multi-cultural dollhouse families.
We are hoping to add multi-generational families (grandparents, parents, and children) to our collection. For many of our students, this is their first experience with cooperative play. We look forward to watching their growth!
