Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is made up of diligent, inspiring, and creative fourth graders with big hearts and analytical minds. They attend school every day with purpose and a desire to learn something new, to discuss what they think, and take pride in their efforts. My students learn in a bilingual community with a high level of family support. They attend our school with growing technology opportunities that enhance their approach, application, and articulation of their knowledge and their new learning. We balance this with many opportunities to develop creativity and physical fitness through sports. We support the development of persistence, teamwork, and determination.
My Project
Families are incredibly important in shaping a child's character traits, education, and self. We need to encourage opportunities that enhance family interaction. Providing my students with resources to explore classic board games with their families on a regular basis would provide both access and encouragement to spend quality time together.
We want to instill time that is set aside for each other where they can have fun while at the same time develop cognitive skills.
Traditional family board games are an excellent tool that can challenge and extend student thinking through strategy, memory, and goals. Please consider supporting my effort in providing family game night for my students.
