Sixth grade is an exciting year where students from many different elementary schools come together to learn, find new friends, and discover new favorite novels! We work hard to have our students work together as a community of learners to help each other grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. My classroom is about students forming strong relationships with each other to help each other achieve more and become lifelong readers. Every year my students come into class asking, "Are we going to read today?" or "I finished my book! I need another one!"
My Project
These new books will help my students fall in love with reading this fall. Our classroom library needs a refresh of new authors and books that students want to read! By adding new books students want to read, students will be more excited to read in their books as we work to build not only our skills as readers and writers but to help us develop a lifelong love of reading. Each of the novels and authors in this project have been carefully selected to help create a buzz about books in our classroom!
With these new books, my students will be able to grow as readers because they will have access to high interest books and authors available to them in the classroom!
The best way to help students increase their ability and confidence in reading is to have books and series they want to read right in the classroom!
