We are the smallest city in the smallest state! Our city is 1.2 square miles! There are many people in this little city. My students attend school in a low-income, high-poverty city, where they have overcome more challenges by the time they enter middle school than most students. My studeager to learn. I work daily with these students to create a learning environment that takes them away from their day-to-day struggles and submerges them into a world of so many possibilities and experiences. I love to incorporate new meaningful experiences into our classroom.
My students come from various ethnic backgrounds.
The needs also vary in the classroom. I strive to meet their needs emotionally, mentally, and educationally. Sometimes the littlest things make the biggest impacts. My goal is to not only teach them but to provide them an education that meets their needs and helps them grow.
My Project
I am requesting engaging books for middle schoolers, comfy pillow and bookmarks which will help me encourage my students to read! They need to have access to a variety of books and a comfortable alternative seating so they learn to enjoy a good book. They love reading books, especially when they can compare them to current movies.
New books and classic books in a variety of topics allow my students to explore and learn to love reading!
These books will broaden their scope of reading! They will be able to sit comfortably on the floor pillows and read during the afternoon reading time.
