I feel so fortunate that I get to continue teaching at a rural elementary school in Oregon. The school houses grades K-8 and many of the students have a long bus ride to get to school. I am excited about the fact that I get to "teach" these students! Smaller class sizes will allow for more individualized teaching!
This school, community and the teachers are a family!
There is one other teacher and an aide at the school with me. I will be teaching all subjects (including P.E., Music, and Art) to students K-3 while my childhood friend teaches fourth-eighth.
I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity not only to teach with one of my childhood friends, but to teach these students. They are kids growing up on ranches, who ride the school bus a long way just to get to school. They are hardworking students who want to be the best they can be!
This Fairy Tales STEAM kit will help my K-2nd grade students build literacy and language skills, as well as boost creative expression and master early engineering concepts. These kits include three fairy tale books, puppets for each fairy tale and problem solving STEM kits.
My students love to tell stories, and this Fairy Tale STEAM kit will allow them to do just that.
Not only will they be able to read the fairy tales, but they will also be able to act out the fairy tales with puppets and then problem solve using the STEM kits.
Having access to this kit will allow my students to work cooperatively, build things and increase their literacy skills in a fun and exciting way!
