Fairy Tales for Kindergartners

My students need 28 books to learn about classic Fairy Tales. These books will will help with comprehension, sequencing of events, compare/contrast, and other valuable story elements. It is surprising that many young students have not been exposed to fables, fairy tales, and nursery rhymes. Your donation will expose my student literature and build life long readers.

I teach kindergarten in a K-1 building. I have noticed that students entering our building are not being exposed to diverse forms of literature.

Fairy Tales for Kindergartners! Many of my students have missed out on bedtime fairy tale stories. Students do not know about the fairy tales books that we knew as children. I would like to share these stories with my kindergarten students so they to can love the stories that promote phonemic awareness and important story elements.

I would like to share at least three different versions of nine different fairy tales so my students can learn to compare and contrast the different events that take place in each book. It is interesting to find out which version they respond to and why. These books also help with sequencing, social skills, vocabulary, and writing. The fairy tales we need include The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and others.

By supporting this I will instill the importance of good literature, good stories, and great writing opportunities.
