Fairy God Mother on Strike..Students Design Cinderella's Carriage
My students need personal finance skills, boxes, cardboard, rubber bands, straws, styrofoam balls, tape and different versions of Cinderella to design a carriage for Cinderella on a budget.
My students are risk takers, innovators, and problem solvers. They are always up for a challenge and never back down. They amaze me each and every day, and they motivate me to be the best I can be no matter what! Thinking about what is best for our students is the focus of our elementary school. Each teacher goes above and beyond to reach and teach all of our students.
Our teachers are researching and creating lessons that will prepare our students for 21st century learning.
Most of the students in our school depend upon the school to provide access to the Internet.
My Project
Fairy God Mother on strike.....Cinderella needs a carriage QUICK!!! My students will be challenged to design a carriage out of tape, cardboard, boxes,straws, rubber bands,and styrofoam balls to get Cinderella to the castle. First they will read different versions of Cinderella to research the different types of carriages to inspire their creativity and improve their close reading skills. Each group will receive a calculator, project budget, budget form along with a materials' price list. They must design a carriage that can roll at least one yard and stay on budget.They must figure out what materials will give them the biggest bang for their buck. Providing personal financial learning opportunities for my students will help them become better financial citizens.
