Help me give my students additional flexible seating options. We were funded for a starter flexible seating project just before the start of the school year and the seats I have added into this project are most sought!
Our classroom is a room filled with joyful noise and active learning. Our school and in particular, my third grade class, is filled with eager learners.
In September, students will be entering my classroom looking forward to the lessons, activities, and adventures that will occur BUT there will be no science text or curriculum there to meet their needs.
They've walked by the door on the way to the office or nurse and have seen a taste of what is in store for them! I want to provide all students with the opportunity to have materials and be excited to learn in the best environment for each and every one of them.
Flexible Seating for Flexible Learning
My students need additional flexible seating options to promote fairness in the most sought after choices in our classroom!

We learn best when we are comfortable, engaged, and invested. When our environment is flexible and accommodating to us, our brains also become flexible, pliable, and ready to learn. My classroom schedule is already set up for students to work with me, work in small groups, and work independently each day in all subject areas including accessing technology during this time. The rug and flexible seating options we already have provide students with different areas of the classroom to work in, while allowing them a choice of what is most comfortable. The seats in this project are the seats that students seek out most often, but not all get an opportunity to use them as much as they would like!
Not all students learn the same way or at the same pace so allowing them choice in their education and learning environment is important.
Students are more eager to listen, learn and engage in the activities when they are able to sit in a preferred area of the classroom. It is important for me to provide these choices to students and these supplies will help me to do that!
