Mrs. Grant from Coral Springs FL is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need cube chairs, a rocking chair, an easel, self adhesive dots to make our classroom more adaptive to their needs.

My school is located in Florida. I have a diverse classroom. My students' ages range from 3-5 years. There are 5 boys in my classroom. My students love coming to school and participating in a range of activities.
My students are on the autism spectrum and love to have a structured environment on a daily basis.
They use individual visual schedules in daily functioning. We engage in both large group and small group activities as part of our daily routine. They love to read, sing, dance, play and do any activities that preschoolers generally enjoy. They also enjoyed the use of manipulatives, iPads, and games as a part of small group rotations. They look forward to outside activities on a daily basis.
The students in my pre-K intensive classroom enjoy whole group activities such as circle time, story time and music/movement. However, they have great difficulties staying seated or staying in their assigned areas to engage in tasks that they enjoy.
The use of these requested cube chairs and rocking chairs (for those who need constant motion) will help them to feel comfortable in these large group activities.
This would certainly increase their participation and ultimately help in learning academic and social skills.
Interactive stories are one of the most enjoyed activities in our classroom. The use of the flexible seating will allow our students to engage in interactive story sessions. The large easel for big books will help students to properly view the stories as they are read to them. Additionally, the self adhesive dots are placed on pictures for students to match the portions of the book as it is read to them. This makes learning interactive and engaging for them.
I look forward to having these materials to increase flexibility and make my classroom accommodating to all my learners.
