My students need these items to improve the efficiency of their projects in the future. We've learned that we are in need of better irons, shears for left-handers, a toaster, a step ladder, and other resources.
The students at our Title I charter school choose to come from multiple cities to get the education that best suits them. We offer smaller classes that allows us to more successfully make accommodations and get to know each student on an individual level. They are able to take a variety of classes that support their interests while having one on one time with the teacher.
They come from may different backgrounds and have their own struggles, but they all come to learn and to have their needs met.
We are very proud of our students and how they overcome adversities to emerge as leaders.
My Project
After teaching these classes for a few months this year already, it's become evident that there are some classroom tools that would have helped to have had. We are in need of better irons, shears for left-handers, a toaster, a step ladder, and other resources. These products will help this year's current students in the coming months and also the years to follow.
Family and Consumer Science classes are hands on, fun, and relative.
Students work on projects almost daily. Many of these resources are consumable, but sometimes they just need a replacement or an additional tool altogether. So far, we've done interior design, sewing, cooking, and are approaching our child development. Some classes spend a few days on each unit, some a few weeks, and some a few months! Either way, these resources will be beneficial for many students for many years to come.
