Our students are creative, curious and motivated learners. They come to school ready to learn and play everyday. This year, our Kindergarten team would like to support our students' individual interests through personalizing their education.
Our Kindergarten students are passionate about their learning!
We want to give them the opportunity to drive their own learning. When given the opportunity to have voice and choice in their education, student are more apt to want to carry out goals to complete a project or learning target.
Last year, we worked with students as they discovered their passions and we, along with their parents became excited about teaching, learning and the possibilities. It was invigorating, inspirational and absolutely exciting to see their passions come to fruition.
My Project
The binders will enable each student to have their own portfolio in which to organize their personalized learning. They will be able to add work to show to visitors and keep at the end of the school year. The plastic sleeves will preserve their work. Timers will serve as a tool to keep students on task and carry out their goals in a timely manner. The timers are a useful tool to build independence and responsibility. The headphones will enable learners to research and stay focused on their individual passions when they want a quiet space. The headphones will allow students to learn at their own pace without distracting other students in the classroom.
