Help me give my students a hands on learning experience to enjoy social studies and science. These materials will allow many students personal experiences in understanding our nation's history and fall in love with science.
Do you remember learning about your country and the sacrifices that others paid so that we may have choices, freedoms and lives that others dream of? Think of how much more students would be able to learn about their culture, their country and the physical elements of their world if only they could immerse themselves in their studies.
My students are creative, inquisitive, eager to learn and love engaging activities.
They thrive in hands on experiences that let them explore their world around them. Students that want to learn and grow inspire me to become a teacher that is always searching to help my students reach their full potential.
Our school is nestled in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley. Our class has a wide range of diversity and learning abilities. Our school supports many programs that inspire students to engage in their learning through hands on experiences, technology and outreach programs.
My Project
Students love engaging hands on activities that I currently do not have. I have recently moved to 5th grade with a new science and social studies curriculum. I would love to build my resources so that I would be able to provide my students with the same engaging, hands on experiences that I have provided my students in the past.
Using the Lakeshore Resource Boxes would allow my students plenty of intriguing and fun activities to bring history alive.
The social studies books and file folder games would be fantastic for centers, read aloud and allow experiences in personal inquiry.
The science magnet and electricity kits would provide more opportunities for my students to explore and learn about the world around them.
