Fabulous First Graders Need a Computer
My students need a desktop computer and a keyboard to be used for reading and math interventions.
Students in today's world are tech savvy even at an early age. Many students who are struggling will gladly work on a computer and practice skills without being frustrated.
I teach in a K-2 Primary School in a very rural community.
We have approximately 700 students with approximately 85% receiving free and reduced meals. I have forty first graders throughout the school day and they are working on a variety of levels. Some are well below grade level while some are above.
By receiving an additional computer for our classroom, students will have access to programs bought by the school system that are computer programs to help students with reading and math on their own levels. Right now, I have only three working computers. Students aren't getting much time on these programs because the resources just aren't available. During our intervention time, computers are important and valuable tools in the classroom.
With an additional computer, students will be able to use technology more often to enhance and build their reading and math skills.
Students who are struggling as well as higher ability students all benefit from computer programs.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
