Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I greet my students every day with a smile and a good morning. Despite many of my students facing adversities in their lives, they arrive at school eager to learn, explore, and grow. I believe they all have something special to contribute to my classroom.
In my classroom, my students are emergent readers, writers, problem-solvers, scientist, artists, and so much more.
Our school servers a majority of low-income students. It provides free meals to all students. Sadly, some families struggle to provide the basic necessities that the students need.
My Project
My students need a new set of read-along books to keep them engaged and interested in reading. The set I selected has some wonderful titles for emergent readers. The CD player will allow my students to listen to their new books. This station will be a fun and engaging way to listen to an expert reader.
Having a fun and engaging literacy center will provide me the ability to work with student in a small group setting and focus on reading development.
My students love read-alongs and this is the perfect set to encourage reading. These materials will make a huge difference in my students lives, they need every opportunity to engage in literacy.
