My students need to present products in a technologically advanced manner and these 4 ipods will allow them a variety of choices in gathering and presenting information.
How many 'reports' did you have to write in school? Wouldn't it be cooler to be able to record an event as if you are there? With modern technology my students have the opportunity to research, create and present products literally at their fingertips!
We are a group of hard working 5th graders who want to keep history alive by being able to act as eyewitnesses to historical events.
We are a diverse group of boys, girls and cultures who work well together and want the chance to show our knowledge the light of day with something other than words on a page.
My Project
My students will research a specific battle during the Revolutionary War, write a script, and film themselves as if they are a reporter at the battle. The 4 ipods I am requesting will allow my students to research on line, shoot video, record interviews, download content easily to our classroom computers where they can edit their movies. There is the added advantage of all the other educational apps that are readily available for the ipods that we could use for Math, Science and Language Arts.
By getting the opportunity to gather and present the information in an exciting, creative way will not only fulfill the basic requirements for our historical research project but will expand their writing skills and open their eyes to a new world of multi-media presentation.
We are living in a time when the old written report doesn't cut it anymore.
They are not always a fair representation of what many children actually know about a given subject. Being able to present products in a unique and creative way keeps our children involved and excited in their learning and keeps us, the educators, evolving.
