Help me give my students incentives for impressive work during small groups. I pick a star student each day and that student is awarded a prize of their choice. They work so hard and deserve it!
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I work with students who are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences, which includes the use of technology in the classroom.
My students are creative, clever, and work so hard.
They like to move, and they love to read and write. My students are always willing to try new things and challenging things in the classroom. They truly are a joy to teach! From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I hope to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
I work with students in grades 3-5 in small groups each day. They work diligently while they are with me, so I award a star student with a prize each day. I am unfortunately running out of prizes in my treasure box. I would love to refill it with all kinds of goodies for my students!
