My students LOVE reading and this year, more than ever, they need books IN THEIR HANDS! Our district has been fully remote since spring of 2020.
Although, we've risen to the new challenges of online learning, my students are at a disadvantage when it comes to reading and having ACCESS to physical books.
Understandably, this year students are coming in with significant reading challenges, yet I see their willingness to read and excitement when they get physical books in their hands, something they rarely get to experiene now.
Please help get books into the hands of these students before winter break so they have books to read & keep over the break!
My Project
This project will put physical books in the hands of my students which means they'll be reading with their family, stuffed animals, and sharing their reading on Seesaw!
The books you help put into the hands of my students will help them read at home and take time away from their screens.
Even with digital resources, students are missing out on the experience of HOLDING a book and reading in a cozy corner or with a flashlight under their covers.
Please help put books in the hands and homes of my students, something that is especially important during this pandamic as families face many challenges.
