My Students

My students are young, new learners who are excited about being in the classroom and coming to school. My students are 5-6-year-olds in an urban Illinois school. We are in a low-income neighborhood, but when students come into this classroom they are rich in possibilities. We strive to learn, grow, understand and explore.

My school has students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade.

One of my favorite things is that I get the opportunity to work with the students in their very first year of elementary school. In Kindergarten, we learn how to be a student, how to make the most of our learning, and how to be a citizen of the world we live in.

My Project

These privacy partitions will help my students to keep their eyes and their focus on their work rather than on the students and distractions around them!

Each day we have independent reading and independent writing time.

This can be so so difficult for Kindergarten kiddos because even one person standing up can distract the whole class. Having the privacy partitions will help them to keep their focus on their work. It will improve how productive we are!

Reading, writing, and math are all areas where students excel working in partners, but students must also learn how to work independently. Privacy partitions will help these students excel in their independent work.
