I teach a great group of kindergarten students in a classroom where we discuss expectations every day. Procedures are set into place to help them be as independent and successful as possible. They truly want to learn and succeed. They make teaching so much fun!
I have 20 students all with their own interests, personalities, and ability levels.
My students love when we do small groups! They work well together and enjoy working in different groups with different students. I do my best to meet each and every one of their needs.
Learning to read is very difficult for many students. They easily get frustrated and lose interest. My job as their teacher is to make reading fun. With this project, I hope to do just that.
The materials chosen will become "Reading Bags" to help my students learn to read in meaningful and fun ways.
Some of the items for the bag include wand pointers, masks, sunglasses, magnifying glasses, witch fingers, and more! How fun for students to look for words or practice reading using these reading tools as motivation to become better readers.
These bags will remain in their desk to use daily. They will be allowed to choose which reading helper they want to use for the day. I can't wait to see how excited my students will be to read!
