My students need a teaching easel. This easel is essential for reading/writing workshops, and creating anchor charts to engage students in learning new skills.
This project expired on August 13, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My first graders are bright, vibrant students who are in need of an easel to help us create more of an engaging and visual learning environment!
My students are an absolute joy who brighten my day each and every week.
They are extremely visual learners, constantly using what is around them in our room to aid them during workshops and individual work.
This easel would only further encourage a unique learning environment that would be a great asset to my first graders. This would allow my students to feel like we have a "home base" or meeting place each morning and during each whole group lesson.
Right now our classroom has an extremely old easel that is almost falling apart. I want my students to feel welcomed with an easel where we can start our day with a morning meeting poem and continue to use it throughout our reading and writing workshops. They will use it to practice phonics skills and our weekly spelling and sight words.
We will study different types of writing and practice editing and revising skills together. We will use it during math to share different strategies we have come up with, and at the end of the day to wrap up skills we have learned.
This easel donation would be such a huge difference in our classroom.
It will allow my students to become more engaged during my whole group reading and writing workshops by creating anchor charts with me. I work in a Title 1 School in a very rural environment. My goal is to introduce my students to things that they would not normally get to be exposed to.
