My Students

My students are an inquisitive bunch who love to learn! They ask meaningful questions and work hard to find the answers. They learn important foundational skills that will help them throughout their lives.

Many of my students don't have the support they need at home to build the skills they need to be successful.

We have recently acquired Title I status, meaning that a large percentage of the kids in this school are at poverty level. That makes it that much more important that they get the materials and support they need at school.

My Project

My students need a class set of the book "Extreme Weather" for an integrated science and literacy unit I am doing. This book is full of information about every kind of storm you can think of, and is written in language 4th graders can understand. I have access to a few books, but I need enough for every child to have their own,

This book is perfect for teaching students about academic vocabulary, how to research, and it perfectly aligns with the science core.

Integrating science and literacy this way is essential so we can have enough time to teach students everything they need to know in a valuable way.
