We have a diverse group of Pre-K students who are ready and excited to learn! With your support, they can grow, learn, and spread their excitement for education into their future academic career. Pre-K is a special place for children to learn how to get along with others while building self confidence and self esteem. They learn how to socialize with others, manage disagreements, and build key communication skills needed in the future.
We are curious and active learners who love to make new discoveries by exploring our surroundings.
It's hard for a four year old to sit and listen for long periods of time. That's why we learn through play! Our classroom materials are essential to our learning process. The materials we play with allow us to role play, reenact what we have learned, illustrate, create, build, rebuild, count, and manipulate water/sand flow. Sometimes we don't understand the purpose of an object so we play around and test our theories. Sometimes we'll think some more and try out a new ways to use our materials. We make observations and discuss what we notice. Through our discussions, we draw conclusions that help us to make sense of the world.
My Project
Doll houses are not just for play. They impact a child’s development in various ways, offering compelling reasons for updating the furniture and people in our doll house. Through the years, we've lost and broken several furniture pieces. There only remains a few doll house people and they are lacking in diversity.
I am requesting doll house furniture and diverse doll house people so the children in my class can build a healthy imagination, improve social skills, and encourage language development.
Some students use the doll house as a safe space to reenact events in their lives, such as birthday parties, play dates, and conflicts they've experiences. Through the dolls the children model language and create their own stories. Please help us rebuild our doll house center.
