This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students in my classroom use our Sensory Room every day, but we desperately need a make-over!

Going to the Sensory Room gives my students a sense of calm and comfort so they can have a successful day of learning.

The sensory room helps my children learn to self-regulate their emotions. The equipment inside of the sensory room are tools we use to teach by experiencing through touch, movement and vision. With these tools, we learn body awareness so escalations can be avoided. We also practice coping strategies to help calm upset bodies and minds.
